In forwarding the ae- companying report on Venereal Diseases for information of the Commander-in-Chief, I find it
very difficult to render an ade quate idea of the alarming di- mensions these diseases have ae quired. I have therefore restricted the report to fresh cases which have been contracted at Hongkong
come under
alone, and have come
treatment during the last eleven weeks (1st Jany. to 16th Mar 96). The re- turn applies to this ship only, and
all chronic cases have been ex- cluded.
